This past week, I had the privilege of shooting NANDANIE in one of my favorite places in the world: Neve Zedek. Known as Tel Aviv’s first Jewish neighborhood, Neve Zedek began in the late 19th century as a quiet escape from the overcrowding of Jaffa. Over time, it evolved into a creative enclave, drawing artists, writers, and visionaries, and today it stands as the cultural heart of modern Tel Aviv. Its winding streets, restored buildings, and blend of Art Nouveau and Bauhaus architecture make every corner feel intentional, soulful, and alive. Even Gal Gadot chose to make her home here.
Every time I turned a corner during this shoot, the backdrop shifted. Soft light. Unexpected textures. Old meets new. It felt like the perfect visual language for NANDANIE, a brand rooted in tradition but designed for modern women who choose their own form of elegance.
It was especially important to me to highlight Israeli design in this shoot. As an accessory brand, I love incorporating pieces I personally collect and cherish, and this time I styled NANDANIE with clothing by Shahar Avnet. Shahar is known for her sculptural silhouettes, intricate pleating, and architectural approach to fashion. Her designs feel both powerful and poetic, wearable art that moves with the body. I’ve purchased several of her pieces over the years, and if you’re ever in Tel Aviv, I highly recommend visiting her shop on Sheinkin Street. I was also privileged to attend her show at Tel Aviv Fashion Week this year, a moment that only deepened my appreciation for her vision.
One of my favorite pairings from the shoot is the NANDANIE Black Jenny Bow styled with Shahar’s extraordinary skirt. It truly felt like they were meant to be worn together, strong, feminine, and unapologetically distinct.
Many of these images were taken at the Suzanne Dellal Centre, another place very close to my heart. Home to the world-renowned Batsheva Dance Company, the campus carries an energy that’s hard to describe but easy to feel. Movement, creativity, and discipline all coexist here. While in Israel, don’t miss a performance, or the chance to experience Gaga, a uniquely Tel Aviv-born movement language that’s raw, intuitive, and transformative.
There’s something deeply meaningful to me about weaving all of this together: fashion, movement, heritage, and place. Just as dance is constantly evolving, so is the way women express themselves. NANDANIE lives in that space, honoring history while creating something new.
I'm excited to share these images with you. They capture not just a collection, but a feeling, one that lives at the intersection of Israel, artistry, and modern femininity.
XO, Nancy Berman
