Ever since Anthony Vaccarello's Saint Laurent's spring/summer 2025 show last year, the fashion world has erupted with a plethora of power suits. The house's designer put on a display of boardroom-ready suits in all colors of the Saint Laurent rainbow (more muted than bold, that is), which have since been fully embraced by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Zoe Saldaña.

But the one thing missing from the discourse is perfectly exhibited by Cynthia Erivo's latest look: it's officially necktie spring.

You may not think of spring as a time to lean into ties, which are traditionally a menswear-centric accessory. But Erivo's look, which features an oversized brown double-breasted suit, striped shirt, and burgundy tie, is a perfect example that not all ties are created equal—some are actually fun.

The Wicked actress let her tie do all the talking with its shiny satin finish and bold color, making the rest of her suit more like a canvas than a power look. Of course, she also accessorized with her signature array of chunky rings and a septum nose piercing.

Even a poplin shirt dress, a summertime staple, can be styled with a tie and loafers.
